How Quick and Easy is TOO Quick and Easy?

I am all for quick and easy. In fact, we live in such a fast-paced world with so many technological improvements and advancements—we Westerners have come to expect that things will happen instantaneously. When it comes to our home businesses, however, we really need to work at balancing quick and easy with efficiency, thoroughness and complete customer service. It can be a difficult business reality to balance. We have to be able to compete and that often means a quick turnaround and ability to meet very steep deadlines. Gospel Doctrine: Straightway & Immediately

When you finish up Matthew chapter 4, you learn of the calling of Peter, Andrew, James, and John, two sets of brothers, all four fishermen. I examined the actions of the shepherds, Simeon, and Anna, all of whom recognized in the babe His true identity. I then pondered how I could and should be like them. The shepherds were the first group I encountered in today’s scripture study. Having been persuaded by the visitation of the Heavenly Host, they decided to go to Bethlehem immediately to see these things for themselves. I love the way the scriptures describe their actions – “they came … Continue reading

We are already a week into the new year. How are you doing at keeping your New Year’s resolutions? Have you started yet, or are you putting them off until ‘tomorrow’? Some resolutions may not matter, but others may well have eternal consequences. The first Priesthood/Relief Society lesson from “Teachings of the Presidents of the Church” is entitled “To Live With Him Someday.” President Kimball discusses the things we need to do to return home to our Heavenly Father. As I studied the lesson, one of President Kimball’s quotes stood out in my mind. One of the most serious human … Continue reading
