Revisiting Celebrity Marriages – Lessons We Can Learn

The last time I visited on this topic was last April but with the rash of celebrity news over the last ten days, now is as good a time as any to take a look at the Hollywood power couples where it appears the marriages are failing or ending with the woman’s successful career continuing to skyrocket and the man’s appearing to be at best, underachieving compared to the wife’s. In the last few weeks we’ve seen Britney Spears leaving Kevin Federline, Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Philippe filing for divorce, Whitney Houston finally saying good-bye to Bobby Brown and before … Continue reading

A Celebrity Split I Didn’t See Coming

I was shocked to hear the news: Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe have separated. After seven years of marriage, the couple released a statement to the media via their rep that reads: “Reese and Ryan remain committed to their family and we ask that you please respect their privacy and the safety of their children at this time.” The famous couple has two children daughter Ava, 7, and son Deacon, 3. I feel especially bad for them. I am aware of the much talked about “seven-year-itch” in marriages, yet I am still stunned by the announcement. The couple seemed to … Continue reading

Celebrity Marriages – Lessons We Can Learn – Part I

Okay, I’ll admit it – I read the gossip about celebrity marriages just like everyone else. She also recently won a Best Actress Oscar for her role as June Carter Cash in Walk the Line. For many young actresses the idea of being a mother was unthought of because it would ruin their figure and interfere with their career. But Reese had other ideas and her first child was born when she was 23. Her kids come first. Reese Witherspoon is a mom after my … Continue reading

Reese Witherspoon is on a Roll!

This has been a busy award season for Reese Witherspoon. She recently won a Golden Globe, a BAFTA (the British equivalent of the Academy Award), a Screen Actors Guild award, and an Oscar for Best Actress for her portrayal of June Carter Cash in Walk the Line. Has all the awards gone to her head? Doubtful as she mentioned that her daughter liked to “sneak them off to her room and dress them up.” The rest of the world may just be discovering the talent of Reese, but I actually fell in love with her a long time ago. It … Continue reading
