Michael Conner Humphreys. Remember him? He was the child actor who played a young Forrest Gump on the big screen. Only, unlike many young stars that break into Hollywood before they can even legally drive, Humphreys didn’t stay long. Last night, I was watching Smokey and the Bandit. I know it is dated, corny, and politically incorrect, but I remember my parents taking me to the theater to see this 1977 hit movie and I love it to this day. Censors Get A Workout At The Emmys

Honestly, I thought there was something wrong with my TV. When the sound cut out in the middle of Ray Romano’s rant on what life has been like since his show went off the air, I instantly grabbed my TV remote and starting pressing the volume button. The volume numbers increased, but still no sound. It took me a good minute to figure out that the comedian had been censored. PAYING UP How much would you shell out to dine with a world famous billionaire? Apparently, you practically need to be one yourself to share a meal with one. According to news reports, a record $650,100 was the top bid in an auction to break bread and bend the ear of billionaire Warren Buffett. That’s $30,000 more than last year’s winning bid. The winner has yet to be identified but whoever he or she is spent quite a bit of time monitoring the eBay auction, which wrapped up Friday night.
