Thanksgiving is one of those occasions where you don’t look like a cheapskate by asking others to contribute to the meal. Reuben Casserole

My husband loves Reuben sandwiches. When we first married, that is one of the few dinners he specifically asked me to make for him. If you have never had a Reuben sandwich, it is a grilled sandwich that is corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and Russian dressing on rye or pumpernickel bread. The origins of the Reuben sandwich are disputed. Some think a grocer in Omaha, Nebraska by the name of Reuben Kulakofsky invented the sandwich around the 1920s/1930s. Czech Cabbage Soup

I saw this recipe and it sounded yummy – it reminded me of the cabbage soup diet, but with a little more substance. For this recipe, you will need beef soup bones, one small onion, carrots, bay leaves, beef short ribs, thyme, paprika, one head of cabbage, two cans of diced tomatoes, salt, Tabasco sauce, parsley, lemon juice, sugar, and sauerkraut.
