Are We Getting Too Used to Marriage Scandals?

From Jon & Kate Gosselin (Plus Eight) to David Letterman, there is hardly a day that goes by without some little nugget of celebrity news that also includes a cheating spouse or some other assault against marriage. Remember Edwards or Sanford? Maybe not too much; we have already moved on from them. There might have been a time when we would have been shocked by such scandals, but today it is different. There is publicity (and not all of it negative) in a marriage scandal. Individuals can admit their mistake, get their fame, promote their book and move on, with … Continue reading

Dana Plato’s Son Files Wrongful Death Suit

I don’t know how many of you may have watched “Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of ‘Diff’rent Strokes’” when it aired a week or so ago. If you don’t remember “Diff’rent Strokes,” it had a wonderful storyline – a wealthy widower with a young daughter adopts two African-American children from Harlem. But the made-for-tv movie was a look behind the scenes of the tumultuous personal lives of the three young actors that starred in it – Todd Bridges, Gary Coleman, and Dana Plato. Each seems to have suffered more than their fair share of child actor woes. Coleman had … Continue reading

I love to scour the Internet and tabloids for entertainment news on a daily basis. It is part of my job, but it is more like my job grew out of my love for pop culture and entertainment. But, I realize some people cannot spend the time to look for the latest news items. So I have comprised what I think are the 10 juiciest news items of this week. Let me know if you think I left anything out! 10. Janet Jackson Nude on the Cover of VIBE Magazine I am really glad that Janet has lost so much … Continue reading

The Righteous Deuce Bigalow

We all know what happened to Mel Gibson last week. He drank too much, got behind the wheel, went speeding down the highway, and when pulled over by the police, apparently decided to blame it on the Jews. Since then, there have been mixed feelings in Hollywood. Some have come out in support of Mel and many have remained silent. But there is one actor who has become the first to come out publicly and say he will never work with Mel because of his actions – Rob Schneider. Yeah, I know, I had to stop and take a second … Continue reading

Why is America Still Obsessed with O.J. Simpson?

I looked at the cover of my National Enquirer this week and guess who was on the cover – O.J. Simpson. In case you’ve forgotten, it has been over ten years since O.J. was first accused of murdering his ex-wife Nicole. Twelve long years and yet he is still making the cover of tabloids. What is our fascination with O.J. Simpson? I can understand perhaps being fascinated with the O.J. of old. I remember the football hero who was so popular even after retiring from football. He was the Heisman Trophy winner in 1968 for USC, held numerous NFL records … Continue reading

Celebrities Lost: Phil Spector

It was just recently announced that Phil Spector would not go to trial for murder until January 16, 2007. His court date has been rescheduled several times, after originally being set for September 2005, due to scheduling conflicts of lawyers and judges involved in the case. He has remained free on a $1 million dollar bond since November 2003. B-movie star Lana Clarkson was killed in Spector’s house in February 2003. Clarkson was waitressing at House of Blues and had only met Spector the day she died. Police said Spector was quoted as saying “I didn’t mean to shoot her.” … Continue reading

Anthony Pellicano – The Private Eye That Went Too Far

If you have not heard the name Anthony Pellicano, that’s fine. There are many celebrities that hope you don’t know about him. That is because many Hollywood celebrities have hired Pellicano as a private investigator. Which is fine, but unfortunately, Pellicano has been indicted on several counts of federal wiretapping, racketeering, and conspiracy. Pellicano also served time in a federal prison for illegally possessing explosives. It seems Pellicano may have learned all he knows about investigating from a less than honorable bunch – the mafia. What is all the ruckus really about? Well, first, there are some big names tied … Continue reading

No Hope Left for the Richards-Sheen Marriage

It seems that the Denise Richards/Charlie Sheen divorce has now turned awfully ugly. Last Friday, the court ordered a restraining order that Charlie must remain at least 300 feet from Denise and his daughters except during supervised visits. The court did allow him a once a week visit with daughters Sam and Lola and a new hearing is scheduled for May 12. What brought about this restraining order? Denise said in court that Charlie has pushed and shoved her and threatened both her and her parents. Charlie has denied all accusations and now telephone conversations between the two will be … Continue reading

Hollywood’s Most Married – Part II

I thought it strange that I started to blog about celebs with the most marriages under their belt and ended up doing one whole blog about Elizabeth Taylor. There were really many more I wanted (and will) talk about. But then I starting thinking – oh, I forgot the queens of them all – the Gabor Sisters. Talk about your serial brides! Zsa Zsa, Eva, and Magda have had 21 marriages between them…and 20 divorces. Zsa Zsa is currently on her ninth marriage, Magda had six, and Eva had five. Incredibly, their mother, Jolie, was married only twice – to … Continue reading

Hollywood’s Most Married, Part 1

While I am thinking about Hollywood marriages, let’s talk about those in love with being in love. Or, at least those in love with being married. When we talk about Hollywood’s most married, the first person to come to mind is probably Elizabeth Taylor. Truly a stunning beauty, old saying “always a bridesmaid, never a bride” never applied to Liz as she has been married 8 times. Liz married her first husband, Conrad Hilton, at the tender age of 18. But, the marriage would not last long enough for Liz to become Paris and Nicole’s grandmother. It was over in … Continue reading
