If you watched “American Idol” last night, you know another fan favorite was booted off. As we saw with Sanjaya, the fans can only carry a singer so far in the competition. However, if you saw Tuesday night’s show, you may not be surprised that dreadlocked Jason Castro was eliminated last night. SIMON COWELL Most ousted “American Idol” contestants would be thrilled to see music mogul Simon Cowell get the royal boot from his high horse, but it doesn’t appear as though that will be happening anytime soon. If you watched American Idol last night, you might agree with Simon – it was “officially the strangest show we’ve ever done.” Last night, Ryan Seacrest told everyone that he or she would sing two songs. Avid fan or not most people know that “American Idol” is a cult phenomenon. Unfortunately, the addiction one die-hard fan has to the singing contest nearly cost her daughter her life. According to news reports, a 25-year-old mother of five “accidentally” left two of her young children alone in the bathtub while she was watching “American Idol.” The Indianapolis mom says she got caught up watching the contestants strut their stuff and as a result one of her children nearly drowned. Scott “You-can-call-me-Cachi” Baio and Howie “I’m-a-Backstreet-Boy” Dorough did it, but there are some Hollywood celebrities who decided not to tie the knot this weekend—-most notably Nick Lachey. And it wasn’t just the tabloids that predicted the ex-Mr. Jessica Simpson was going to exchange vows with his girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo. I live in Wisconsin… a state that doesn’t typically make headlines the way bigger metropolises like New York and California do.
