It’s been a busy week for pregnant celebrities (and their spouses). An award winning athlete, a former television witch and a rocker all welcomed new additions to their families. Here’s a look at who will be sleeping a bit less in the nights to come (well, at least their nannies will). According to PEOPLE magazine, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinart and University of Southern California basketball player Brynn Cameron welcomed a son on Tuesday. Cole Cameron Leinart was born in California, and weighed in at 6 lbs., 7 oz. PEOPLE reports Leinart had to be rushed from afternoon practice to … Continue reading

The “surprise” will be a real treat for country music fans and for others who prefer a different genre of music it will illustrate the power of the human spirit. Making History Underwater

If you have never heard the name Katie Melua—-I have a feeling it’s just a matter of time before that changes. The Georgian-Irish singer is already a well-known European artist, but now she is gaining worldwide recognition not for what she sings, but rather where she sings. According to news reports, Melua just set a world deep-water record by performing a concert 994 feet under the North Sea in the leg of an oil platform. An editor of the Guinness Book of Records confirmed the record for “the world’s deepest underwater concert performed in front of an audience.” Guinness officials … Continue reading

Legendary Hawaiian Entertainer Recovering

I was born and raised in Hawaii, which means I grew up knowing all about singer Don Ho’s career and the impact his talent has had on the 50th state. Ironically, it wasn’t until I left Hawaii and accepted a job in Wisconsin that I was able to actually meet the legendary entertainer face-to-face. It’s hard to believe that it took him appearing in concert 5,000 miles from our home (Hawaii will always be home to me) for our paths to cross. Ho was in Wisconsin promoting a concert and I was a television news anchor assigned to interview him. … Continue reading

The Many Roles of K-Fed

“K-Fed,” “Mrs. Britney Spears,” “Eminem wannabe,” whatever you want to call him Kevin Federline will likely answer… at least that’s what he told Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show today. He’ll answer because he wants the attention. (Okay, that’s just my humble opinion.) Despite the fact that Federline has been on the scene for a while, I still don’t know what to make of him. Yes, he is married to pop princess Britney Spears. And, yes, they have an 11-month-old son Sean Preston together and are expecting baby number two any day now (and no, he swears he doesn’t know … Continue reading

Irony And/Or Coincidence?

On the very day that her new album hit stores, pop singer Jessica Simpson was a no show at numerous critical personal appearances. Simpson’s publicist tells media outlets that the former “Newlywed” is suffering from a case of laryngitis. A “bruised vocal chord” to be exact. The injury forced Simpson to cancel her “Today” show appearance (PEOPLE Magazine reports that she is now re-scheduled to appear on the show’s “Summer Concert Series” on Friday and is also booked to “speak, but not perform” on Wednesday’s “Today” show) as well as a Wednesday appearance with David Letterman. “It is true that … Continue reading

What Is It About David Hasselhoff?

Sure, growing up my brothers and I never missed an episode of “Knight Rider.” And, I confess, I did watch “Baywatch” for a couple of seasons… but what is it about David Hasselhoff that makes him so irresistible to so many? He has reached superstar status as a singer overseas, though his success in the music industry hasn’t carried over to the United States. Yet, I continue to see Hasselhoff on commercials, in magazines, in the “American Idol” audience and making the rounds on the talk show circuit. In addition, he is currently making headlines in the States as a … Continue reading
