A Cat Named Snoopy: Murphy’s Newest Fan Club Member

Murphy’s fan club recently added a new member: a cat named Snoopy. Snoopy’s a little gray tortoise-shell Tabby cat who lives in the neighborhood. She lives near the back of our walking route and is both an indoor and outdoor cat. Snoopy has a sister named Lucy who looks an awful lot like Mr. Meow. The first time I saw her I panicked. Stop the Schulz Bashing

Fans of Snoopy and his creator Charles M. Schulz should be outraged. I know I am. I have loved that adorable white beagle since I was a young girl (as the only sister in a house full of boys I earned the nickname “Lucy” for trying to boss my brothers around). And now, decades later my own daughter is an enormous Peanuts fan. Her room is filled with Snoopy furnishings and decorations. Author Review: Charles M. Schulz

We know Charles M. Schulz best as the creator of the “Peanuts” comic strip. I thought it would be interesting to take a closer look into the life of this highly talented man. As a child, he was moved up two half-grades, and became the youngest in his class when he reached high school. He was fairly shy and isolated, perhaps because of this age difference, but also perhaps because of a natural tendency. Discovering a talent, he began taking correspondence courses in art.
