She is a talk show host, she’s an “American Idol” judge, and now Ellen DeGeneres is a comic book hero. You may have known for years that Ellen is a loyal advocate of animal rights. She has supported the American Wild Horse Preservation Campaign, the Farm Sanctuary, Heifer International, the Society for Animal Protective Legislation, and the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). She helped in getting California’s Proposition 2, which prohibited abusive confinement of farm animals, passed in 2008.
