Now you may be reading my title and thinking “Who is Chesley ‘Sully’ Sullenberge,” but whether you know it or not, you have probably read about him already. I worked in television news for more than a decade. I know all about the gimmicks, stunts and over-the-top stories news directors pepper their shows with during the critical November ratings period. That said there’s no reason I should be surprised that NBC is sending their “Today” show anchors to the “Ends of the Earth” in a feature that begins airing Monday. The former reality TV star was reportedly taken to the hospital late Friday after suffering a fever (yes, a fever). According to reports, the 27-year-old actress was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and was later diagnosed with a kidney infection. Celebrity chef turned “Today” show contributor Giada De Laurentiis is having a baby. And to illustrate just how skinny she is, the almost 5-months pregnant Food Network hottie says she hasn’t had to buy maternity clothes yet. The good news: Meredith Vieira is retuning to ABC’s “The View.” The bad news: She’s only staying for a day. Actually, she’s only scheduled to be on for one segment, but here’s hoping it will be a long one. Meredith Vieira… remember her? She was the daytime chatfest’s moderator for nine years before she left for her current gig at NBC’s “Today” show. Believe it or not Paris Hilton has almost completed her debt to society (well, at least for driving with a suspended license). I like Matt Lauer. Okay, I’ve never met the guy, but I do enjoy watching him co-anchor NBC’s “Today” show. I especially enjoyed watching him sheepishly admit to a mistake he made during a recent story.
