When a Reunion Isn’t Really a Reunion

I read today that Led Zeppelin “long-awaited reunion” may lead to more concerts. The group will be performing on December 10th at London’s 02 Arena in a benefit tribute concert for Ahmet Ertegun. Ertegun was the co-founder of Atlantic Records (along with Herb Abramson) who passed away last year. I only have one problem with this. The “reunion” of Led Zeppelin doesn’t include all the original members. The original members of the band, formed in 1968, were Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, and John Bonham. Music’s Big Name Comebacks

He was shot in the head and survived. Now singer-songwriter Marc Cohn (his hit “Walking in Memphis” won a Grammy in 1991) is planning his first performance in the state where he barely escaped death nearly a year and a half ago. According to his website, Cohn will play in Boulder, Breckenridge and Aspen, Colorado next week. It will be his first time back on a Colorado stage since he was shot in the head during a carjacking attempt in Denver in August 2005. When I was in high school, Van Halen was the hot new band, destined to save us all from disco. The young good-looking guitarist, Eddie Van Halen, shared the spotlight with lead singer David Lee Roth. In the next 20 years, Van Halen would release 11 studio albums, all of which broke into the Top 20 of the Billboard charts. Overall, they have sold more than 75 million albums.
