I’m fascinated by all of those household robots that promise to do everything from make toast to hand wash the dishes. Prince William’s granny is going global… via the World Wide Web. Britain’s 81-year-old royal matriarch is entering foreign territory, but the queen says she is up to the task. Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s oldest-ever monarch and an icon of traditionalism, launched her own special Royal Channel on YouTube today. Which just goes to prove that it is never too late to join the YouTube generation. I have to hand it to Jamie Foxx—-he’s come a long way in the past few years. In less than a decade the actor who was raised by his grandmother has moved from the standup stage to the Oscar stage. Pop Culture Goes High Tech

I have blogged about the power of YouTube in previous entries, but this latest incident truly proves how powerful the medium has become. Police in New Zealand say they were able to catch a thief thanks to a video posted on the popular Internet video sharing site, YouTube. According to officers, the man was taped circling the store, stealing a laptop computer, slipping it into his overcoat, then stepping out of the store unnoticed. Or so he thought. Have you seen the iPhone mock up on Apple’s website? It features some pretty colorful icons that promise that the iPhone will do all sorts of great features. There are four icons at the bottom: Phone, Mail, Web and iPod, that show off the standard functionality of the iPhone.
