The Abusive Customer or Client

I have written about coping with challenging customers and clients and different ways that we may have to deal with less-than-idea interactions in our home businesses. Every once in a while, however, we may get one of those customers-from-hell who is so verbally abusive, so mean, and so challenging, that it may be all we can do to maintain composure while we try to deal with them. A Tragic Adoption Experience

Two years ago, the nation was shocked by the story of the adoptive mother who took her children to Nigeria and left them there. One of the children, who is now a teenager, has given an interview to tell her side of the story. When she was five years old, she and her three siblings were removed from their home because of physical abuse by a drug addicted parent. They spent three years in the state foster system. The Child Protection System is in Trouble

We can read about child abuse cases almost every day in the newspaper. The cases that are publicized are just the tip of the iceberg. I will give two examples that I know about that will not get any publicity. We are friends with a state social worker. She had the responsibility for two children placed in the same foster home. She kept noticing that the baby was very thin. The family would always have a lot of clothes on the child which made the worker more suspicious.
