Rilla of Ingleside – L.M. Montgomery

With “Rilla of Ingleside,” we come to the last installment of the “Anne of Green Gables” series. Rilla is the youngest daughter born to Anne and Gilbert Blythe, named after Marilla Cuthbert and definitely the pet of the family. She has Gilbert’s dark coloring and a dimple in her lip. When I was around eight years old, I fell in love with a character by the name of Anne Shirley and though she first made an appearance in L. Maud Montgomery’s novel, Anne of Green Gables, I was first introduced to her through Kevin Sullivan’s film adaptation.
