AT&T Prepares for the iPhone

AT&T is making many advanced preparations in anticipation of the Apple iPhone release, which will take place on June 29th. The company is planning to accommodate massive amounts of traffic in its retail stores on that date, by customers eager to purchase the iPhone and sign up for cell phone service. Today, Randall Stephenson, the Chief Executive at AT&T announced that at least 40 percent of all of the people seeking information from AT&T about the iPhone are not currently AT&T customers. iPhone: The 12th Icon

Have you seen the iPhone mock up on Apple’s website? It features some pretty colorful icons that promise that the iPhone will do all sorts of great features. There are four icons at the bottom: Phone, Mail, Web and iPod, that show off the standard functionality of the iPhone. But on the rest of the screen, there are other icons, eleven to be exact, lined up along the screen like little soldiers. It seems that we finally have a confirmed release date for the new Apple iPhone. No more speculations or rumors. Apple and Microsoft have long been rival companies in the computing world, almost from the very beginning of the birth of the personal computer. New Monitors Will Eliminate Dangerous Chemicals

In an open letter to its customers, shareholders and general public, Apple shared its plans for being more environmentally responsible. One of the points in that letter was the announcement that the company will be transitioning all of its computer monitors to LCDs (light-emitting diodes). Currently, the monitors that Apple mainly produces are of the LCD (liquid crystal display) type, an industry standard. These types of monitors contain two major toxic chemicals, Arsenic and Mercury.
