Bobby Brown Makes A Deal

If you are a divorced parent who relies on child support to make ends meet, you may find yourself shaking your head after reading this next blog. The way I see it if there was a contest to select a poster child for deadbeat dads (guys who refuse to support their kids) then R&B singer Bobby Brown may just walk away the winner (for being the biggest loser). Brown has spent the last few days in a Massachusetts jail for failing to pay more than $19,000 in late child-support payments (for two children he has with a former girlfriend). According … Continue reading

Bad News For “Dog”

It may not have as many twists and turns as the Anna Nicole Smith saga, but the legal wranglings popular Hawaii-based bounty hunter Duane “Dog” Chapman currently faces is enough to make anyone’s head spin. Chapman is the star of TV’s reality series “Dog the Bounty Hunter,” however his star status may be in jeopardy now that a federal court cleared the way for him to be extradited to Mexico to face charges that he illegally arrested Max Factor makeup heir and convicted rapist Andrew Luster in 2003. According to a Honolulu newspaper, the decision can still be appealed, but … Continue reading

Is TV Bounty Hunter Headed To The “Dog” House?

TV’s “Dog the Bounty Hunter” is making headlines again. The reality television star known for upholding the law is now being accused of breaking it. According to a Honolulu (the city “Dog” resides and films his show) newspaper, a woman has filed a lawsuit against Duane “Dog” Chapman, alleging the TV bounty hunter and his crew threw her down a flight of stairs and broke her back while apprehending her boyfriend. The paper says the contents of the lawsuit do not list specific damages, though it does accuse Chapman and his fellow bounty hunters of injuring the woman at her … Continue reading

Update: “Dog” Looking To Cut A Deal

TV bounty hunter Duane “Dog” Chapman’s “leash” may be cut by the end of next month. (Read my previous blog about Chapman’s arrest to get up to speed on “Dog’s” current dilemma.) The result may be less growling on “Dog’s” part. According to the latest news reports, Chapman’s attorneys are try to construct a deal to avoid his extradition to Mexico to faces charges of illegal detention and conspiracy in his capture of a cosmetics company heir there three years ago. (F.Y.I. Bounty hunting is a crime in Mexico.) This entire episode—and I don’t mean that facetiously—Chapman’s recent arrest and … Continue reading

Country Singer vs. Bear

Popular country crooner Troy Lee Gentry (of the singing duo Montgomery Gentry) has been accused of killing a tame black bear. What’s more, he could go to prison for doing so. It’s a bizarre story (well, I think so anyway): Federal officials allege that Gentry purchased a black bear named Cubby for just under $5000 from a wildlife photographer and hunting guide then killed it with a bow and arrow in an enclosed pen on the photographer’s property in October 2004. Now, nearly two years later, Gentry is facing charges in federal court for tagging the bear. The government maintains … Continue reading

Mel Gibson Avoids Jail

Mel Gibson won’t be going to jail for driving under the influence, instead he will be spending a lot of time in group therapy. A statement released by the L.A. County District Attorney’s office Thursday announced that the 50-year-old actor reached a plea agreement with prosecutors in his drunk-driving case. Basically, it spares him jail time but requires him to attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, restricts his driver’s license for 90 days and sentences him to three years of probation. Gibson will also have to pay $1,300 in fines. In addition, the L.A. district attorney’s office reports that Gibson “volunteered to … Continue reading

Shocking News About “Sixth Sense” Star

I don’t know about you, but whenever I hear Haley Joel Osment’s name I automatically think of the chubby-cheeked little boy with saucer eyes who starred in M. Night Shyamalan’s “The Sixth Sense.” I always thought he was so cute (even though the movie scared the heck out of me) and what’s more, he seemed so polite, well spoken, and just very “together.” By all appearances he seemed destined to be one of the rare child actors who would escape the pitfalls of celebrity. Wrong. According to an L.A. newspaper, Osment is currently being charged with three misdemeanors including driving … Continue reading
