Historical Attractions in the United States

For me, genealogy has sparked a general interest in American history. I remember thinking history was so boring in high school. Text book learning, apparently, is not my thing. However, during the past few years I have visited places that have historical significance in our great country. I have learned so much through my visits, and have developed a love for history. Besides the fact that visiting historical attractions can be fun, interesting, and exciting, they can also teach us a lot about our ancestors. Having a direct connection with historical places can be a very humbling experience. Listed below … Continue reading

Iowa—-Shaking It Up To Attract Visitors

I have traveled to and through Iowa many, many times. Some of the trips were work related while others were to attend family functions. But, in general, none of them were to visit a major tourist attraction. They exist… in certain parts of the state. However, in central Iowa I would image visitor bureaus may have a tougher time trying to lure in travelers. In fact, the castle itself is a symbol of the … Continue reading

Here are a few of those odds and ends! At Aloha Isle, you can get Dole Whips, which are a nearly famous Disney treat, a pineapple and frozen yogurt concoction. In the Enchanted Grove in Fantasyland, you can get the Strawberry Swirl, with is a super tasty treat! It’s made with strawberries that are twirled in non fat vanilla yogurt! In Adventureland, in the Sunshine Tree Terrace, you can get … Continue reading

My Favorite Attractions: Disney World’s Magic Kingdom

I’ve been back to the Magic Kingdom several times over the last 20 or so years. I enjoyed many of the attractions both as a child, a teenager, a young single adult, a newly married wife and on our last trip, a mother of a very eager and excited 4 year old. Over those many visits, I’ve put together a list of ten must see attractions at the Magic Kingdom, which ranks as my favorite of the different theme parks available for visiting during our periodic sojourns to Orlando, Florida. In no particular order, here are my favorite attractions at … Continue reading
