Good morning and welcome to our first weekend in November. There are just 19 days left until Thanksgiving and it’s a beautiful crisp morning here. Cause of SIDS?

A recent report from Harvard Medical School and Children’s Hospital Boston has linked a specific brain malfunction with Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, commonly known as SIDS. In a lot of ways this is really ground breaking research. Up until this point, no one has definitely pointed to one cause for SIDS. However, researchers have noted several risk factors for SIDS, including sleeping on the stomach, and smoking. Furthermore, this study suggests that SIDS may even be preventable. Babies in the News: A Toddler Was Trapped in a Vending Machine

Yes, you read that headline correctly. In Wisconsin, a three year old went in to get a stuffed Sponge Bob and became trapped inside the claw toy vending machine. Apparently, the toddler was on a trip to the mall with his three older siblings and his grandmother. The grandmother gave the children each a dollar to play on and let them have some fun in a game room. The toddler, named Robert Moore, tried without success to retrieve the Sponge Bob stuffed critter with the claw. In Great Britain, there are a pair of twin boys who were born with different skin colors. According to experts, this is a rare genetic occurrence.
