Well, once again the Home Blog started and ended the week on similar topics. Three Tips for Staging your Home offered some tips for preparing a home for sale and linked to other articles on staging tricks and techniques. Home Color Trends for Fall 2007

Are we talking about fall already? Yep. Pantone recently released a report on color trends for the home in fall 2007. There are some surprises. While there are still vivid reds and oranges and deep browns, there is an interesting mix of other hues as well. The reds are deep “red pepper” colors while the oranges are richer than the usual pumpkin pie colors. Brown has gone past the caramel neutrals and is expressed in cocoa and dark chocolate colors. There are so many design rules, who can keep track? This works, that doesn’t, and sometimes things that should work won’t, or things that shouldn’t work will. Color Trends

Is the love affair with neon colors over yet? Not completely, but most of this year’s colors are going to be a bit more subdued. There is an exception when it comes to exotic colors, such as the colors of exotic flowers, but for the most part color schemes are going to include jewel tones, neutrals, and pastels. Some of these influences will pull colors from exotic rugs and jewels and give us a chance to enjoy deeper tones. From garnet and topaz to deep purple, we can indulge in rich color.
