FINALLY! Cloris Leachman lovers may be crushed, but personally I couldn’t be more thrilled that the 82-year-old Oscar winner has finally been booted from the ballroom. The next time Dancing with the Stars’ Cheryl Burke and Lacey Schwimmer gear up to kick it on the dance floor they may be aiming their feet directly at fellow pros Louis van Amstel and Maksim Chmerkovskiy’s rear ends. Looks like MTV is not the only cursed network around. Just ask Olympic beach volleyball champ and current “DWTS” contestant Misty May-Treanor. The gold medal athlete is recovering from a nasty spill that sent her to the hospital Friday afternoon. According to a statement released by ABC, the muscular looker was practicing her dance routine with pro partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy when she sustained an injury that required hospitalization. Network execs wouldn’t elaborate on the nature of May-Treanor’s injury, though they did deny that she broke her ankle. Hmmm… maybe this is the real reason his fiancee dumped him. Julianne Hough , we should have believed you from the get go. “Dancing with the Stars” champ Helio Castroneves may be shimming his way into a prison cell if federal prosecutors get their way. The pro racecar driver turned celebrity hoofer on the hit ABC dance competition was indicted yesterday in a federal income tax case in Florida. Man, do I feel sorry for Corky Ballas. His freshman season on “Dancing with the Stars” and he gets stuck with Cloris Leachman. The octogenarian runs her mouth more than she does her feet and she lives to dance another week. Incredible. Big Babies Bounce into Hollywood

Looking back at Minnie Driver’s pre-delivery pictures she didn’t look as though she was particularly heavy. While pictures can be deceiving (and the actress is relatively tall), I was still surprised that she gave birth to a nearly 10-pound baby boy last week. According to Driver’s rep, the “Good Will Hunting” star became a first-time mom to son Henry Story Driver last Friday in Los Angeles. Baby Henry weighed in at a healthy 9 lbs., 12 oz. and mother and son are reportedly doing “splendid.” As for the identity of the child’s father, well, that remains a mystery. Finally! After a long summer my toe-tapping, tutu wearing, twirling toddler (okay, she’s more preschooler than toddler) will once again get to shimmy and shake with the best of them. If you watch ABC during primetime you might have seen the commercials for the upcoming season of “Dancing with the Stars.” The new cast will not be revealed until August 25th, but the ads promise that the new celebrity hoofers will include a detective, a model, and a super star chef.
