The Opposing Viewpoints Series from Greenhaven Press is a series I have long admired as a student, citizen and prospective educator. The series contains over 90 books ranging from Abortion to Welfare Reform. The series has been in existence for 25 years but is frequently updated. Each book organizes itself around four or five main questions relating to a topic. Words have Meaning

For readers who believe in defending traditional marriage, don’t worry. You have every right to think, feel, and yes, say what you believe. Don’t feel obligated to comment here. Just know it. Look, even Heather says you’re entitled to your opinion: “First and foremost, understand that I respect the rights of everyone to have an opinion and a position.” Yet, there is a caveat. Will Gay Marriage Be on the Ballot in Massachusetts in 2008?

As the state of Massachusetts prepares to begin a state constitutional convention, it seems pretty clear that they will avoid voting whether or not to place gay marriage on the ballot in 2008. While many believe that there are plenty of votes to get the issue on the ballot, based on positions publicly declared by lawmakers, it seems that some lawmakers would rather not have to decide. The Pacifier Wars

Over the years, there has been a tug of war between proponents of the pacifier versus those who are against the pacifier have swung the pendulum back and forth. When my daughter was born, pacifiers were recommended against (especially if you were breastfeeding) and now once again the pendulum is swinging back to be in favor of the pacifier including as an aid to help reduce the changes of SIDS.
