Sales at Disney, Toys R Us, JC Penney, and More!

Have you finished your Christmas shopping? I know that I’m not quite done yet. Fortunately, there are some great sales on movies, toys, and more that are going on right now! This should help you finish up your Christmas shopping list and save a little money at the same time. Disney Store is having an “Up to 50% off” Toy Mania Sale. There are hundreds of toys and costumes included in the sale. At a glance, I’d say that this is the perfect sale if you are shopping for a Christmas present for a child who absolutely adores the Disney … Continue reading

A Disney Lover’s Valentine Treat

I really didn’t think I’d have anything Disney-related to post about Valentine’s Day. I could report on the lists of special flower arrangements scattered around the Disney parks for the occasion, or perhaps I could find details on special Valentine’s menus offered at Disney restaurants. But honestly, neither of those things is enough for an article. Despite the insinuation with which I opened today’s blog, I haven’t really found a strong topic connecting Disney and Valentine’s Day. What I did discover, however, is the plethora of Disney gift cards available at The Disney Store online. Guess what: there are currently … Continue reading

Disney Innovation in Times Square

Times Square is one of New York City’s most famous destinations, both for the sights and for the shopping. In many cases, the two come together in one iconic attraction. Think of the FAO Schwartz life-sized keyboard-dancing scene in the movie “Big,” or giant playful displays of candy at the M&M’s store and you’ll see what I mean. When I was little, the store that felt the most like a delightful attraction was, of course, the Disney Store. As I’ve mentioned before, I could go there and pretend I was amongst my favorite Disney characters for awhile. In fall 2010 … Continue reading

Putting the Disney Back Into “Disney” Stores

It’s about darned time. While the money magazines may speculate that a consumer slowdown isn’t the time for The Walt Disney Company to go back into the retail chain business, as a consumer, I can’t wait. I never liked their sale of the chain stores to Children’s Place and I never felt like the stores were the same after. When you walk into a Disney Store (or as my daughter calls it “The Mouse Store”) you should feel like you are walking in to a piece of Main Street U.S.A. inside one of the parks. But the downsizing of the … Continue reading

Disney Stores Recall Baby Einstein Pajamas

As the headline says, Disney Stores North America and the Consumer Product Safety Commission have put into effect a recall for Baby Einstein pajamas. The pajamas are the ones that utilize the baby duck and caterpillar designs. The recall was announced yesterday, April 24th because the pajamas present a risk of burn injury to small children. While no injuries have been reported, tests indicate that the pajamas do not meet a children’s flammability standard. Sales figures indicate that about 200 of these footed pajamas were sold between April and May of last year. If you’re wondering whether you purchased these … Continue reading
