A Dog Sitting Tale

My pets seethed at me this weekend. Snarls issued from the depth of my cat’s chest, before he retreated to the guest room and hid under the bed, refusing to emerge despite my cajoling. My dog paced around the house and seemed especially desperate for attention. What was the cause of such dramatics? Two basset hounds. A co-worker of my husband’s needed a dog sitter for the weekend, and my husband, knowing of my love for dogs, volunteered. Bailey’s Big Adventure

A few weeks back, a neighbor asked if I wouldn’t mind watching her dog for the day. Her dog’s name is Bailey and I believe she’s a Maltese. (As much as I love dogs you’d think I’d be well versed in all breeds, but alas I’m not. The Three Dog Circus

This week, I’m dog-sitting for the wonderful wiggle-pup Casey. Okay, I can’t really call her a puppy anymore — she’ll be two this year! But in my mind, she’ll always be the little puppy who I could carry around in one arm. Casey’s human parents headed off to Florida on Monday, and will be back on Saturday… so I’m in the home stretch of the Three Dog Circus.
