Whose Dreams is Your Business Fulfilling?

I usually assume that those of you who are operating your home businesses are doing so because you want to. Since my home business work is a fulfillment-in-process of my own personal dreams, I tend to project and assume that is how it is for every one. I realize, however, that is not necessarily the case. Some of you might have started a home business by default or under pressure from someone else. Can you still stay motivated and get excited about a home business endeavor if it isn’t your passion? Can you find ways to make your dreams come … Continue reading

Dreams about People Other Than Your Mate

Some shows on television often are good indicators of the way that people live and react with one another. Screenwriters spend much time observing how people react in certain situations. Tthey almost gives us a chance to stand on the outside and look in. Once again I am writing in memory of a favorite episode of one of the all time shows that depicts the comical relationship between a husband and a wife, Home Improvement. During the particular episode that I remember, Al’s girlfriend has a dream about Tim. In the dream he is seen as a type of night … Continue reading

When the Person of Your Dreams Does Not Match Your Dreams

In our quest for happiness in life many of us look for that perfect person in which to spend the rest of our lives. We typically have some idea of what that person acts like, feels like, and even looks like. In some cases we may be greatly surprised to find our gift in a different package. In other cases we find exactly what we had in mind. In addition to knowing what type of person we are looking for, we also know what type of things we want out of life. Most people usually have some sort of outline … Continue reading

Playing House

We bought our little one the cutest set of toy pots and pans for her little kitchen this Christmas. We also found an adorable set with a chef’s hat, apron, and matching potholders (in her favorite color purple, I might add). She looks so cute as she goes about preparing the best pretend meals in town. Sometimes, I’m served an elaborate meal and other times I cook and play too. I like playing house with her because we have fun spending the time together, but my favorite part is when she tells me her dreams for the future. She’ll talk … Continue reading

Motherhood Dreams

Many of us are initiated into the world of what I call “motherhood dreams” when we are expecting—whether during pregnancy or anticipating and waiting for an adoption, I think our subconscious starts to work on parenting and motherhood issues before our child even arrives. After nearly two decades of being a mom, I still find that many of my motherhood issues, fears, and anxieties get wrestled with in my sleeping dream life… While I have had some lovely motherhood dreams, many of them are wrought with anxiety and worry about one or more of my kids. It has been strange … Continue reading

“Stress” Dreams of a Single Mom

I am a big believer in dream analysis; okay, maybe I’m into having my dreams “officially” analyzed and I don’t necessarily think of them as “visions”—but I do think things can be worked out in my subconscious while I sleep. I’ve gotten some pretty good insight and inspiration from my dreams over the years, so I keep a dream symbol book near the bed and try to at least pay attention to what is going down in my dream world. Periodically, I have what I think of as “single parent” dreams—dreams where I am incredibly busy and there are all … Continue reading

Determine the Best Route

Money dreams and goals are not always simple. Sometimes you have more than one. How do you decide what to do and when? Should you try to follow all your dreams, but plan them at different times or should you just pick a few realistic ones? A great process is to create a money dream notebook. For each page, title it with the dream. Then start to keep track of both your feelings and research. The details you include will be dependent on the dream, but they can help you to plan and also compare your money goals. This notebook … Continue reading

Maybe Now is the Time to Revive Old Dreams

Single parenthood does not have to be all “to do” lists and making do. As a matter of fact, now may be the perfect time to revisit and revive some old dreams and desires and your life may be in a place now that you can actually make some of those dreams come true… Opportunities abound, but we have to be able to look out and see them and reach out and grab them. But, first, we have to identify what it is we want and this can involve going back and looking at some of those dreams and goals … Continue reading

Share Your Money Dreams

What are some of your money dreams? I asked around and came up with this list… feel free to add some of your own! The ability to quit work and stay home with your kids. Believe it or not, both men and women wish for this dream. Some men want it for their family; others want it for them too. Having one parent home can save money on childcare and make everyone’s life less frantic, but it is also tough to lose one whole income. To buy your first home or condo. Often coming up with the financial means to … Continue reading

Teach Your Child How to Dream

I’m a firm believer that children need to be taught how to dream. By “dream,” I mean having a driving hope for the future—a clear concept or idea of what they want to do or be. Every child needs to learn this, and children with special needs are no exception. Some children develop a dream for their lives from early childhood, but many children must be taught to dream. These are the kids that shrug their shoulders and say, “I dunno,” when asked about their future plans. Why Dream? A child with a dream has greater motivation to achieve. Children … Continue reading
