My dad has always made a big deal of the fact that I was born on August 16th—the same day (though different year) that Elvis Presley died. Memphis, Tennessee is gearing up to host an onslaught of visitors in the next couple of weeks. Music News: Elvis in Hawaii and Justin’s New Partner

ELVIS IN HAWAII Elvis fans will soon have another reason to visit Hawaii. Plans are in the works to immortalize the star of “Blue Hawaii” in bronze at the site of his historic 1973 concert “Elvis: Aloha From Hawaii.” According to a Honolulu newspaper, a life-sized bronze statute of the King wearing his signature flare-legged pants and big-collared, bejeweled shirt will be unveiled in July outside the Neal Blaisdell Center (the site of his Hawaii concert) a few blocks from downtown Honolulu.
