I love family projects—whether it is cookie baking, cleaning out the closets, or other ambitious undertakings, I really do enjoy (for the most part) doing projects with my kids. You can use craft wood or even scrap wood for this project. You might even want to use aluminum or Plexiglas since it’s going to be outside. You should be able to pick up a small piece of either, or have a piece cut down to size, at a hardware store or sign shop in your area. Actually, a coated aluminum license plate blank works perfectly.
