Food aggression, also known as canine possession aggression, can be a definite problem. Usually a dog with food aggression sees family members as threats who may try to take his food or toy away. Your instinct might be to take away the food or toy if your dog growls or glares at you. However, that just confirms your dog’s suspicion — that you are a dirty rotten food and toy taker. Picky Eaters

Do you have a picky eater in your fur family? I do. My girl Lally Beeber is SUCH a picky eater! This is how our morning breakfast goes: I fix breakfast for Moose and Lally. Moose’s dish is set in the kitchen. Moose starts to eat. Lally’s dish is set in the hallway. Lally sniffs her food and walks away. I sit down to “protect” her dish from Moose. Pet Scuffles: When To Get Worried

Lally and Moose and I did some pet sitting for friends this past weekend. For just about twenty-four hours, it was the three of us and one very rambunctious eight-month-old puppy named Casey. For the most part, the time we spent together went remarkably well. Lally had someone to run around with. Moosie had someone to wrestle with.
