Tiger Woods Admits the Obvious

After months of hiding, Tiger Woods decided to give a public statement about his “indiscretions.” Tiger, dressed in a blue button-down shirt and dark blue blazer, held his press conference at the TPC Sawgrass clubhouse in Ponte Vedra Beach at 11 a.m. ET this morning. With Tiger was his mother Kultida, but not his wife Elin. The crowd of those at the event was reportedly small and handpicked for the carefully controlled environment. The few members of the media that were invited were told they could not ask questions. The majority of reporters were in another area, watching Tiger on … Continue reading

Tiger Woods Involved in Mysterious Car Accident

Golfer Tiger Woods was involved in a minor car crash yesterday morning. While I think everyone was glad to hear the golf legend only suffered minor facial cuts from the wreck, a lot of people are wondering just what happened as the details are sketchy. Tiger’s Cadillac Escalade SUV hit a fire hydrant and his neighbor’s tree as he was leaving his gated $2.4 million dollar home near Orlando, Fla. at 2:25 a.m. Reports are that his wife Elin heard the crash and had to smash the rear window with a golf club to get Tiger out. Police found her … Continue reading

Is Your Favorite Sport Putting You at Risk for Injury?

Health experts (as well as government officials) are constantly trying to motivate people to get moving. They want couch potatoes to get up and walk, run, enroll in an aerobics class, join a bowling league, play tennis, etc. However, doctors are now saying that if the right precautions are not taken, the amateur sports that experts want people to participate in can have unexpected long-term health risks. A new study conducted by a leading occupational therapist found that when leisure activities are not done properly they can have negative effects on the musculoskeletal system. According to the study, in the … Continue reading

Bob Hope Auction a Success

Over the years, Bob Hope worked tirelessly for the United Service Organization (USO), showing support for our troops from World War II through the Gulf War. Although the benevolent entertainer passed away five years ago at the age of 100, Bob Hope is still giving. This past weekend, approximately 800 of his personal items were placed up for auction. The entire sale brought in a total of $601,000 for the Bob and Dolores Hope Charitable Foundation, which helps U.S. veterans. (This image is a work of a U.S. military or Department of Defense employee, taken or made during the course … Continue reading

Now that spring is here, there are plenty of opportunities to have some great family fun. Here are some ideas that I bet even you haven’t thought of, yet! Super Bowl XLII: What to Know Before You Go–Other Offerings

For the past few days I have been examining the options Super Bowl fans have in Phoenix as they prepare for the NFL’s biggest game of the season. In previous blog I covered everything from dining options to party places and everything in between. There is no doubt that in a few days Phoenix will be (at least temporarily) the hippest, hottest place in the nation. The super big Super Bowl crowds will likely displace the many snowbirds that flock to Arizona each winter, but I’m sure city and state leaders could careless. In the place of the repeat visitors … Continue reading

Pop Culture Potpourri: Paying Up and Teeing Up

PAYING UP How much would you shell out to dine with a world famous billionaire? Apparently, you practically need to be one yourself to share a meal with one. According to news reports, a record $650,100 was the top bid in an auction to break bread and bend the ear of billionaire Warren Buffett. That’s $30,000 more than last year’s winning bid. The winner has yet to be identified but whoever he or she is spent quite a bit of time monitoring the eBay auction, which wrapped up Friday night. According to eBay officials, 72 offers were submitted by pre-qualified … Continue reading

Expecting a Little Tiger

Tiger Woods and his wife Elin have announced that they are expecting their first child later this year. The couple became engaged in November of 2003. Tiger began dating the Swedish model after they were introduced by another golfer, Jesper Parnevik, who had briefly employed Elin as a nanny. The couple married on October 5, 2004 and has homes in Orlando, Wyoming, and Sweden. Tiger has been busy this year, including winning both the British Open and the PGA Championship. But, he says that he will spend a few weeks at home with his wife before starting his 2007 PGA … Continue reading
