Single Parent Travels: Behavior Rewards

I understand the idea that you shouldn’t bribe your children, and in some cases I can see the reasoning behind it. I do however believe in giving children rewards for certain things, and in this case, it was rewards for good behavior on our trip. One thing I did was go to Wal-mart and the dollar store and bought some small, inexpensive toys and treats to bring with both for in the plane and during our stay. This Little Piggy’s Book of Manners – Kathryn Madeline Allen

It’s hard to explain to children why manners are important. Although, I have to admit, some adults don’t really get it either. This cute picture book by Kathryn Madeline Allen, illustrated by Nancy Wolff (really, I didn’t make that up) tells the importance of having good manners in a way children can understand and accept. We begin: “This little piggy said please and thank you.
