Paris Hilton’s Exotic Animal Sends Her To The Hospital

Perhaps Paris Hilton should have read Aimee’s blog on exotic animals. The hotel heiress made an emergency trip to the hospital this week and she has her pet kinkajou Baby Luv to thank for it. Hilton’s publicist told news reporters that the raccoon-like animal bit Hilton on her left arm. The 25-year-old “Simple Life” star was not badly hurt, but did receive a tetanus shot before leaving the hospital. According to her publicist, Hilton was playing with her exotic pet early Tuesday morning “the way some people play with their cats and dogs” when the animal became excited and sunk … Continue reading

What Happens At The Hospital Following Serious Injury Of A Child?

This may be a difficult Blog for some people to read, because we really don’t want to imagine our child hurting or suffering in any way. Serious Injury is never a planned event, and not a situation parents want to face. However, One of the leading causes of death for children are accidents resulting in serious injury. If your child is critically hurt there is generally no time to stop and think about what is going on. Some parents fall apart right away and cry or become inconsolable. Other parents switch into auto-pilot mode and just trudge through the situation. … Continue reading

The Unexpected Trauma Injury-My Son’s Accident

Continued from: When Your Child Is Hurt–The Unexpected Trauma Injury Our Lives have never been the same since the day my 9-year-old son was seriously injured and taken by Life Flight to the trauma hospital. Our family had been enjoying an ordinary snow day when tragedy struck, we watched the helicopter take off with Sean inside and scrambled to figure out how to get through the icy roads to the trauma hospital. It was about an hour since the phone call and our world was upside down. It was only around lunch time when we let our son go play … Continue reading

When Your Child Is Hurt–The Unexpected Trauma Injury

Before you read this Blog I need to warn you, I tend to get a little dramatic when I write about this event in our family’s life. To my credit I think it should be expected that a mommy would be dramatic about a traumatic life changing injury happening to her oldest child. The truth is we do not live our lives thinking we would be the people on the evening news, or that our child would be taken to the hospital in a life flight helicopter. It was December 6, 1992 and snow had covered the valley floor of … Continue reading

The Little Things

Yesterday was one of those days. You know, the one where everything seems to be going well and suddenly it takes a hard left in the middle of the day and you are scrambling to catch up. Yesterday, my husband had an accident on his motorcycle. You see, a few years ago when we were married, he gave me a projection screen television and I gave him a motorcycle for our wedding presents. To preface the rest of the story, he is fine and in one piece – mostly. He wears the proper gear, he always wears a helmet and … Continue reading

Disney World Guest Hurt in Accident

I debated over whether or not to approach this as, in the past, many of the on-site injuries reported in the news wind up being overblown or of no fault to the park itself. However, I found that this particular accident might serve as a caution to those new and repeat visitors to the Magic Kingdom. On Tuesday, February 14th, a 70 year old man fell on the loading conveyor belt while boarding Peter Pan’s Flight and landed in front of an approaching ride vehicle. Cast Members immediately stopped the ride and the man was taken to Orlando Regional Medical … Continue reading
