Many of us imagine that when we get to be parents, we will be able to do things our way–raise our children and make decisions based on our ideas and values. However, it does not take long for most parents to realize that they are targets for plenty of unwanted and unsolicited advice from in-laws, family, friends and even strangers! Have You Heard the Term “Helicopter Parents?”

I was reading an article that referred to the role that “helicopter parents” are now playing once their “children” enter the workforce. I have to admit that I hadn’t heard the term before and I was absolutely horrified that parents of nearly-adult and adult children were actually doing these things!
