No Pity Party For Paris

Last week a veteran Hollywood publicist told a reporter from TV’s Entertainment Tonight: “Usually powerful people protect powerful people.” His comment was made following the re-jailing of Hollywood socialite Paris Hilton and spoke to the fact that when celebrities fall on tough times they can typically rely on their fellow stars to back them up in the midst of their crisis. In the case of Paris Hilton this celebrity “support” has been noticeably missing. Frankly, I find the publicist’s comment to be very interesting. Especially if you take a look back at other “fallen” stars. For example, when Mel Gibson … Continue reading

Hilton Won’t Appeal

Paris Hilton has had a change of heart. In a statement released late yesterday (from her jail cell) the blonde socialite says she won’t appeal her 45-day jail sentence. Rather, Hilton says she is “learning and growing” from her time in the slammer. “Today, I told my attorneys not to appeal the judge’s decision,” Hilton said in the statement. “While I greatly appreciate the sheriff’s concern for my health and welfare, I intend to serve my time at L.A. County Jail.” For the record, Hilton isn’t exactly in a “jail cell.” Rather, the celebutante is sitting in the medical ward … Continue reading

Paris Hilton Sent Back to Jail

Just when you thought Paris Hilton was getting off easy because of her celebrity status, it appears that that is not the case. Paris was ordered to return to jail to serve out her entire 45-day sentence there, not at her home, earlier today. Screaming and crying, Paris was told she could not serve out her time at home with the electronic monitoring ankle bracelet like she thought. She cried out “It’s not right” and “Mom” before mouthing “I love you” to her parents who attended the hearing. The media reported that her body shook as she sat through the … Continue reading

Back Behind Bars!

Love her or hate her, you have to admit the drama surrounding Paris Hilton’s jailing has reached a fever pitch. She’s in. She’s out. She’s in again. Who knew that California jails had revolving doors? As it stands now, the 26-year-old hotel heiress has been collected from her Hollywood home and taken back into custody after a judge ordered her to serve the remainder of her entire 45-day sentence behind bars. But, in true Hilton style that announcement was far from the most dramatic part of this morning’s events. If you had the chance to turn on any cable news … Continue reading

Hilton Out Of Jail

The non-stop twists and turns associated with Paris Hilton’s probation violation case are enough to make anyone dizzy… or nauseated. Hmmm… nausea… I wonder if that is the “undisclosed medical condition” that got the hotel heiress sprung from her jail cell after serving just three days behind bars? For those of you out of the loop, the 26-year-old jailbird is free to fly around her own home now that she has been fitted with an electronic monitoring device and released… I mean… reassigned to house arrest. “She was not released, she was reassigned,” a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson … Continue reading

Star Updates: Paris the Potter and Princely Perfume

PARIS THE POTTER The countdown is on—-Paris Hilton now has less than a week of freedom before she is mandated to report to jail for violating probation by driving with a suspended license. Check out the pictures in the tabloids and you’ll see the hotel heiress has been spending her days enjoying a lot of retail therapy and long lunches with pals. But, most recently she has been snapped exercising her skills as a potter (who knew) crafting and painting ceramics (including a Chihuahua figurine) with her sister Nicky at various L.A. pottery shops. But, don’t let her Zen-like exterior … Continue reading

Drama Queen Lives Up To Her Name

There are drama queens… and then there are Paris Hilton-like drama queens. The former find it seemingly impossible to ride life’s ups and downs and often make mountains out of molehills by twisting facts or misinterpreting events so they can appear to be the victim. The latter, well, let’s just say they are in their own self absorbed universe and it’s rare when their daily actions aren’t covered by a flock of photographers and reporters. Such is the life of Paris Hilton, only in the days following her sentence of 45 days behind bars for violating probation the socialite has … Continue reading

Moving From Denial To Acceptance

It looks as though the impossible may very well be possible after all. Against all odds, it appears Paris Hilton is moving from the denial phase of her sentencing to a slow acceptance. According to news reports, the hotel heiress has decided she won’t appeal the 45-day jail term she was sentenced to earlier this month for violating probation. When I first heard the news I was skeptical, but in fact, court documents confirm that the 26-year-old socialite is abandoning her appeal. Whereas I don’t think it is necessarily cause for celebration, it does indicate the heiress is now prepared … Continue reading

Paris Hilton—Life Behind Bars

It’s a far cry from a Hilton. (Sorry, I couldn’t resist.) If you haven’t already heard–party princess/hotel heiress Paris Hilton has been sentenced to 45 days in county jail for violating her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case. Whether she actually sees the inside of a jail cell remains to be seen—a California judge has mandated she be incarcerated—–but part of me still has a sinking feeling that with all the money that backs the Hilton name, somehow, some way, her daddy will be able to pull some strings and she’ll regain her freedom. I hope that is not … Continue reading

Famous Hotel Heiress Going To Jail

Frankly, I can’t believe it happened. No, really. It’s one of the rare instances in my life that I have been rendered speechless. (Luckily, it didn’t affect my ability to type.) If you haven’t heard the news: Paris Hilton is going to jail. News agencies from around the world are a buzz with the headline that the hotel heiress/socialite/reality-TV star/party princess/Britney Spears’ BFF is headed to the slammer. Just a few hours ago, a California judge sentenced Hilton to 45 days in county jail for violating her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case. It’s actually a bit more convoluted … Continue reading
