Boys Don’t Read?

For years we’ve been hearing the mantra ‘boys don’t read.’ Sometimes I wonder if this attitude isn’t perpetuated by such comments and assumptions. What is necessary to grow a male reader? One is having books read to them from the time they are born. I mean a wide variety of books, not just those considered ‘boy books.’ Another is having a reading example especially from their father or other men. I taught our son to read before school. Preventing White Chocolate from Seizing

Yesterday, it was late at night. The kids should have been in bed, but weren’t. They have been too excited with all of the preparations for Thanksgiving and christmas happening in our house, church and community. I started making “celebration sticks,” which is basically pretzel rods covered with chocolate and some delicious or colorful toppings. This was a request from my daughter, who just turned five.
