I like to make mobiles with kids because they are such a versatile craft project. You can use just about anything to make one. You can adapt them to fit any room theme, the kid’s favorite character of the week, or a mixture of all the child’s interests. All mobiles will need string or thread. Make a Rainbow Mobile

You and your kids can make these cute rainbow mobiles for their bedrooms or playrooms or any room. They are simple, cute, and fun. You can screw a mug hook into the ceiling to hang up rainbow mobiles, or simply hang them from doorknobs to decorate doorknobs. Items Needed: Craft foam Craft paint Tissue paper Cotton balls (optional) Markers Scissors Glue Yarn or string Raffia or ribbon Beads Hole punch Instructions: On the craft foam, draw a rainbow shape with round sections at each end. Cookie Cutters: Not Just for Cookies

Cookie cutters are available in many shapes and sizes and they are made from different materials. While the plastic ones work fine for making cookies, the metal ones are much nicer for making crafts. Mobiles Use cookie cutters to make a simple mobile. Choose stars, hearts, or any shape you like. Cut a dowel rod down and reserve a length about 12” long. Wrap it in ribbon or paint it. Mobiles and Wind Chimes

You and your kids can make simple mobiles and wind chimes from wire coat hangers and a few other materials. Mobiles Start by stretching the rung on the bottom of the coat hanger to make a round shape. Cover the entire hanger with strips of fabric, yarn, or any other material. Tie one end and then begin wrapping it around the hanger until you cover the entire hanger then tie another knot.
