Wii Fit Can Get You in Shape

I have to admit that I have become a Biggest Loser fan. I stayed away from previous seasons, since I am not generally one to watch reality shows, but got hooked on this one, in spite of the obvious product placements. It was inspiring. And now I am looking forward to seeing the new Wii Fit product in action. In fact, it might even require that we purchase a Wii. Wii Fit is anticipated here soon in the United States and is seen as the next big thing from Nintendo. It was released in Japan back in December, and it … Continue reading

Outfitting Your Wii with Controllers

There is no doubt that the Wii is currently (and still) the most popular and affordable gaming device out there. But before you score your Wii at $250, make sure that you have budgeted for the accessories and games. I’ll be offering a guide to the most useful and interesting Wii accessories. First, let us talk about controllers. The most obvious accessory is an extra remote. The Wii comes with only one controller, so unless you want to avoid playing the Wii with others, then an extra remote is a must. A big part of the fun of playing a … Continue reading

Setting Nintendo Wii Parental Controls

Take advantage of the parental controls settings on your Nintendo Wii and keep your kids safe from inappropriate video game content and themes. I just had a recent discussion with some moms about setting limits on which video games are allowed for their families. One of the issues that came up was the fact that many parents just don’t have the time or the knowledge to screen the video games that their children play. Setting up the parental controls in your video game system is one way to help you control the content. While the Nintendo Wii has many family-friendly … Continue reading

Flash Focus – DS Game

How old are your eyes? The new DS game, Flash Focus promises to train your eyes and to sharpen your momentary vision, your peripheral vision, hand-eye coordination, and dynamic visual acuity. The game explains what all those mean and how they are important. Although the game is rated E for everyone, it’s a hard game for younger children. The activities get very fast and challenging. If you have young children who frustrate easily, I wouldn’t buy this game for them. For you though, it’s fun. Ideally, you train your eyes once a day for fifteen minutes. Just like in Brain … Continue reading

Video Game Price Wars

In a move that was slightly surprising, Sony announced a price slash to its Play Station 3 (PS3) video game system. This is a $100 cut, or 17 percent of its old price, retailing it for about $500. The price slash probably came about in an effort to move up the ladder in the video game wars. Currently the Sony PS3 ranks third in sales, with the Microsoft Xbox 360 in second place and the Nintendo Wii capturing the gold, so to speak, in first place. Rumors have it that Microsoft is planing to slash its prices on the Xbox … Continue reading

Did You Get Your Wii?

If you did get the Wii you really wanted? If so, count yourself lucky. It appears that more than seven months after the release of the gaming console, Wiis are still running scarce. The demand is definitely outpacing the supply. The Wii, launched by Nintendo, is a video game unit that is best known for its wireless controller that is also motion sensitive. The units are selling so quickly that hopeful consumers have to go to the trouble of calling around to their stores to find out when the next shipment will come in. Recently, the line of Wii wanters … Continue reading

Wii Can Do It

Did you hear all the hullabaloo about the new game consoles that became available in the last couple of months of 2006? One of those gaming consoles as labeled Wii (pronounced ‘we’). The Nintendo Wii utilizes wireless controllers that take advantage of all the bobbing about most game players indulge in when they are playing a video game. In fact, it’s always been something of a joke in our household that leaning hard right when you are playing a driving game doesn’t really help your game playing. We just do it because our bodies know that is the motion we’re … Continue reading
