If you think your kids are spending too much time on the computer, well then you are not alone. Kids today conduct whole lives online, and it seems that we are always encouraging them. Take for instance the fact that more … Continue reading

Have you ever met anyone from the Internet in person?

Well, the day is here. Today is the day I get to meet Spoons, Gobs, True, Tharm, Phantom, and a slew of others. Those are, of course, not their real names. Even if I remembered their real names, it would feel strange calling them by them. I’ve been chatting in a forum for over a year now with these people. Interestingly enough the program in only available to students “not currently enrolled in the system,” meaning children in schools cannot join the program and leave the school building. However, students currently homeschooling can join. I guess you cannot argue with the fact that they are trying to attract homeschoolers back into the public school fold. … Continue reading

Question: I have read that you recommend co-sleeping. I believe it is healthier for my infant and would make it easier to breastfeed. But my husband thinks it would be awkward to have the baby in bed with us. His mother also thinks it’s a bad idea. How can I change their minds? I thought it appropriate, today being Valentine’s Day, that I address this question. At the root, this is a discussion about how marriages change once we add to the family. I don’t really know, but I would venture to guess that this couple hasn’t been married long. … Continue reading

A Warning For People Who Pay Bills Online

Did you know that Americans pay one in four bills online? Paying your bills online is convenient.
