I have never really understood what Jesus was talking about when he gave the parable about not putting a piece of new cloth on an old garment. All four of the gospels record this parable, so the meaning must be important for us to understand. How often have you heard the expression, “A little leaven leavens the whole lump.”? I know I’ve heard it several times and that I have rarely, if ever taken the time to ponder the meaning, though I was vaguely aware that the principle was found in Scripture.
