Chances are you’ve seen a Western on television or the big screen. If you have, then you have more than likely seen an American Quarter Horse. One of the first breeds to be native to the United States, the Quarter Horse evolved from Turk, Arab and Barb breeds. The foundation stock was brought to the colonies from Ireland and England in the early 1600s.
