Mouse Hunt!

What happens when you combine a former city chick who has seen rats the size of small cats, a handy husband that is surviving on too little sleep and a mysterious “something” with an appetite for a 45-year-old house in the woods? Chaos, I tell you, chaos. When I last left off, I was telling you about our adventures with a mystery rodent. Let’s call it Godzilla, so you don’t confuse it with that cute little epicures mouse in Ratatouille. Better yet, let’s call it the ROUS (rodent of unusual size); with teeth. (If you missed the early part of … Continue reading

What a great week it’s been for Disney with Walt being honored as an inspiration to another generation and the launching of Disney/Pixar’s Ratatouille in theaters nationwide yesterday. Ratatouille (2007)

Let me preface this review by saying that although this movie is gorgeously done animation by director and writer Brad Bird (The Incredibles 2004), this fairytale about a Remy the Rat’s dreams of being a master chef coming true does have one significant problem for parents. The animation is so well done that the scenes of the rats fleeing one home at the beginning or swarming together to help Remy towards the end are so very well done that it was nauseating. It was like actually watching a tidal wave of rats and I’m sorry Disney and Pixar – you … Continue reading

The Incredibles – Part Deux?

Oh, say it’s true, please please! Because of all the animated features out there that could be a blast with a sequel — Brad Bird’s The Incredibles is one I would love to see. You may remember the 2004 Disney Pixar film that featured the Parr family: Bob, Helen, Violet, Dash and Baby Jack Jack. But the Parr family has a secret – Bob and Helen are former super heroes forced to give up their Super Identities and live like everyone else after lawsuits and public sentiment turn against them. According to Brad Bird, he is still working on coming … Continue reading

Rat’s the Word

Are you ready for Ratatouille? I admit to have some reticence when I first saw the previews for it because the idea of a film that focused on a rat in a kitchen didn’t seem to be so appealing at first, but later previews are persuading me to be more interested. As part of the promotional campaign for Ratatouille The Big Cheese Tour kicked off yesterday at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. The Big Cheese Tour So what is The Big Cheese Tour? It’s a cross-country event that will be appearing at major food festivals and others all summer … Continue reading

Ratatouille To Be Next Pixar Feature Film

Ever since Disney and Pixar merged in one of the most talked about mergers in entertainment industry, fans have been wondering what would be the next film to come from Disney. That film appropriately stars a rat, though perhaps not the rat that first comes to mind when you think, “Disney.” Ratatouille will become the eight animated feature film produced by Pixar. Scheduled for release on June 29, 2007 and directed by Brad Bird, who directed The Incredibles for Pixar and The Iron Giant, the film will follow a rat named Ratatouille who lives in an upscale French restaurant. Disney … Continue reading
