If you have never heard the name Katie Melua—-I have a feeling it’s just a matter of time before that changes. The Georgian-Irish singer is already a well-known European artist, but now she is gaining worldwide recognition not for what she sings, but rather where she sings. A New “World’s Oldest Person”

The Ecuadorian woman who was declared by Guinness World Records as the “world’s oldest person” has died. Sadly, news reports say Maria Esther de Capovilla died Sunday, less than a month before her 117th birthday. Capovilla’s family members told local reporters that she was born in Guayaquil in western Ecuador on September 14, 1889 (the same year that Adolf Hitler was born and the Eiffel Tower was inaugurated) and lived in a ritzy neighborhood with her daughter-in-law and son. That’s One Big Baby

How much did your children weigh at birth? My daughter weighed in at a healthy 7 pounds, 7 ounces. Not bad, considering she was born about two weeks ahead of schedule. Prior to giving birth I had bet my husband that she would weigh in at about 8 pounds. Had she stayed tight until her actual due date I may have been able to cash in on that bet.
