Monday Fast Fitness Plans

Monday mornings! I’ve never been a fan of Monday mornings. I spent my 4th of July weekend sick and in bed for the most part. Our plans were tabled for me, though I sent the husband and daughter out to have a good time. I got to enjoy their stories and their wonder at the fireworks and much more. But here it is, the long weekend is over and we are approaching the halfway mark of summer. July also marked the beginning of the back half of the year. Not to make you look at the calendar, but school starting … Continue reading

Lower Health Care Costs with Exercise

My husband just got taken on full time at the place he is working. I am thrilled, because after three years as contractors this means we get to have full on health insurance again and no more hospital bills ringing in the $20,000 range (and no, I’m not kidding, that’s what it cost us for his emergency appendectomy last year). We have been very fortunate that we haven’t had excessive health care costs over the last few years, with small exceptions, because we didn’t have insurance. In January, we applied for and received an independent form of health insurance that … Continue reading

Maintaining Fitness in the Holiday Season

The holiday season is fast approaching and this is the hardest part of the year for many people to stick to their exercise routine as family comes to visit, holiday shopping, cold and stormy weather and more can really diffuse how we look at our fitness goals and our fitness workout. Women’s Fitness: Your Duty to Yourself

Good morning Ladies, how are you today? Well, I hope. Me? Oh, I’m a bit tired. I’ve been working too much again and not taking enough time for myself. I seem to spend my life in an expectant stage of going from one project to another so fast that I forget to stop and take a breath in between them. This isn’t a healthy way to exist and I, of all people, am aware of it. Ladies, Our Duty is to Ourselves As wives, mothers, daughters and sisters we tend to overlook ourselves in favor of our husbands, our children, … Continue reading

Consistency is Key

In my personal experience, the greatest success I measured in any fitness program I engaged in occurred when I did it regularly – day in and day out and only taking the days off that I designated. No matter how hard you work or how much exercise you do – if you are not consistent about it, you will not achieve the results you wish. For example, I have heard the following far too often: I can only work out for ten to twenty minutes a day and how is that ever going to be enough? I’ll tell you how … Continue reading
