Celeb Updates: Bindi and Richie

BINDI IRWIN “Crocodile Hunter” Jr., Bindi Irwin, hosted a very special guest at her late father’s beloved home away from home this week. The Dalai Lama visited Australia Zoo where he personally thanked young Bindi, her mother, Terri Irwin and younger brother, Bob for their dedication to preserving wildlife. The spiritual head of the world’s Buddhists visited with the Irwin family before addressing a sold-out crowd at the “Crocoseum.” (The last time the place was filled to capacity was nearly a year ago during a memorial service for Steve “Crocodile Hunter” Irwin, who died when the barb from a stingray … Continue reading

Britney Spears—Free At Last

“Free at last. Free at last.” I can only imagine that Britney Spears likely uttered a phrase similar to that upon checking out of Malibu’s Promises treatment facility on Tuesday. Yes, she’s out… and about. Several media sources have reported that the “new and improved Britney” (we’ll just see about that) has been quietly going about her life since completing her stint in rehab. According to a Los Angeles newspaper, Spears’ two young sons and their father Kevin Federline visited her the day she was sprung from Promises (though reports say that the children will remain with K-Fed until “he … Continue reading

Celebrity News: Rehab, Jail, and Hitting back

Rumors are that 28-year-old Metcalfe checked himself into the center last Monday after several days of heavy partying in Hollywood. The rehab announcement comes as rumors were circulating that Metcalfe had proposed to his girlfriend, Nadine Coyle, singer for the … Continue reading

Kevin Calls for an Emergency Hearing

I just do not know what storyline is crazier anymore – Anna Nicole or Britney Spears. Yesterday, it was announced that Britney’s estranged husband, Kevin Federline, has requested an emergency custody hearing. Britney and Kevin have two small children together – 17-month-old Sean Preston and 5-month-old Jayden James. Kevin had filed for sole custody of their sons after the two split. On February 1st, he was awarded temporary joint custody that would last until the end of this month. Allan Parachini, a spokesman for the Superior Court, has confirmed that Kevin and his lawyer will appear today for an emergency … Continue reading

Britney Spears – How Much Weirder Can It Get?

Has Britney Spears taken over as Queen of the Bizarre Behavior where Anna Nicole left off? It certainly seems that way! Yesterday, I saw a brief news report that said Britney had checked into – and out of – rehab in just one day. Her manager could not be reached for comment, but People Magazine, TMZ.com, and the television show “Extra” all reported yesterday that Britney checked into Crossroads, the Eric Clapton center in Antigua. “Access Hollywood” said the reports of Britney entering rehab were not true, but did not say from whom they received their information. Right on the … Continue reading

The Fight for Isaiah, Round Four

As we moved closer to the day that a decision had to be made about Isaiah, Lola was talking more and more like she was assuming that she would retain her parental rights. Her drug rehab counselors were giving her pep talks and her lawyer was apparently encouraging her. She would talk about these things in front of me as if I was disinterested in what was happening. Some of her talk was clearly fantasy. For instance, she told me that she was going to be trained to be an ultrasound technician for a hospital. She had not finished high … Continue reading

The Tears of a Clown: Robin Williams Enters Rehab for Alcoholism

There are two stars that I almost feel like I have grown up with – John Travolta and Robin Williams. Both were young stars when I was a teen and have grown into very established stars. I have followed the career of both and have seen them go from underappreciated to well respected actors. As far as comedy goes, there is – at least in my mind – no comic greater at improve than Robin Williams. In fact, he may be the best – ever. It was announced this week that Robin Williams decided to enter rehab for alcoholism. His … Continue reading
