I love the “Babylon” books – those named, of course, after the biblical city Babylon. These books talk about the materialistic and hedonistic pleasures of – you guessed it – celebrities and musicians. The first one I read was “Hollywood Babylon: The Legendary Underground Classic of Hollywood’s Darkest and Best Kept Secrets” by Kenneth Anger. A Wife’s Public Embarrassment: Dina Matos Sympathizes with Silda Spitzer’s Plight

Yesterday’s top news story was the deep do-do New York Governor Eliot Spitzer found himself in after he was linked to a prostitution ring. Standing there by his side when he addressed the media was his wife, Silda. Mike Tyson Pleads Guilty to Drug Charge

If there were two sports legends that I could do without ever hearing about again, it would be O.J. Simpson and Mike Tyson. Both were extremely, extremely talented athletes who chose to let their personal lives overshadow and taint their professional athletic careers. And now both are back in the news. I’ve mentioned before what a big part of pop culture the Superman character is. But even those who play Superman seem to make the news, whether it is good or bad.
