Don’t Forget the Troops During the Holidays

As we’re shopping, wrapping presents, and shipping gifts off to distant friends and relatives, we should also consider sending something to our troops. Unfortunately, there are members of our military that don’t receive much from home. Even the smallest gift from the states means a lot to those who are far from home. Veterans Day: A Little History

It seems that a lot of people get confused when it comes to Veterans Day. Part of the reason may be because it has changed over the years. The date has been changed as well as the name. The original holiday was celebrated as a day of peace, and was known as Armistice Day, which marked the end of World War I. John Kerry’s “Joke” No Laughing Matter?

By now, most people have heard what John Kerry recently said about getting a good education or you’ll “get stuck in Iraq.” He tried to play it off, claimed that he simply misspoke, and that he had intended to bash the Commander in Chief instead of the troops (as if that were a good thing). He claimed it was a botched joke, but unfortunately for him, nobody is laughing. Kerry was asked to apologize, which he would not immediately do. Projects to Support Our Troops

People have differing opinions about the war, but most people agree that the men and women that make up each of our armed forces are brave individuals, worthy of our gratitude. If your children would like to support our troops, or you want to teach them ways to show gratitude, please consider sending some items through the Any Soldier program.
