I must not be watching enough TV, because I didn’t even know “The Montel Williams Show” was still on the air. Now I know. And so do a slew of irate parents at a high school in Georgia thanks in large part to Williams’ nasty run in with a current student. “Reege” Recovers

I don’t know exactly when it happened. My best guess is that it occurred sometime in college during my first stint as an intern at a local television station. It was then that I got hooked watching Regis Philbin’s morning talk show. Back then he shared airtime with Kathie Lee Gifford, but there was no question that he was the driving force behind the show. TV Talk Show Legend Dies

Television talk show legend Mike Douglas has died. News agencies report that the 81-year-old star died early Friday morning in a Florida hospital. Sadly, Douglas’ life ended on his birthday, though a cause of death has not been released. Douglas was born Michael Delaney Dowd on August 11, 1925 in Chicago. It didn’t take long before he found his calling as a teenage singer and entertainer for supper clubs and radio programs.
