Growing up in Hawaii there was never a need for me to visit a tanning salon. However, upon moving to Wisconsin I found that fake baking is a popular pastime that is often shared between mothers and daughters. Who knew that mother-daughter bonding could be so dangerous? Teens and Tanning Salons

My 14-year-old neighbor is tanner than me, and it’s not because she just returned from a trip to the Bahamas for spring break. In fact, she and her family have yet to leave on their spring vacation. The reason she is sporting a golden tan is because she is a regular visitor at our local tanning salon. It goes without saying that fake baking exposes people to potentially dangerous radiation.
