To Tattoo Or Not

I am going to tell you all a little secret when my bandages came off after my nipple reconstruction surgery I may have cried a little looking down. No not a bad cry it was a good one. I guess I never realized how much I missed having them. I know it is silly but looking down for a minute they almost looked like the original ones but they still needed some color they are just skin toned now. The doctor said I need to wait 6 months before I can get them tattooed. Now when he said they would … Continue reading

Fashion Trends: Tattoos for Moms

If you don’t think the trend exists then you haven’t been to the beach or an amusement park on a 90-degree day recently. That’s where you’ll see them in full view. The hearts, the names, the swirls and twirls inked in birthstone colors. I’m referring to tattoos, tats, skin art, whatever you call them; they are showing up in increasing numbers on the arms and legs of… moms. That’s right; no longer are tattoos the exclusive trademark of bikers and sailors. A new study shows of the quarter of Americans from ages 18 to 50 that sport tattoos, more than … Continue reading

Should Christians Get Tattoos or Piercing?

Permanent Make-up

Micropigmentation is an ancient practice of enhancing facial features that has become popular around the world! Using needles, granules of pigment are implanted below the surface of the skin for cosmetic or corrective enhancement. Permanent make-up is only one use for micropigmentation. Scarring can be improved through micropigmentation, as can uneven skin pigmentation. For women who undergo breast surgery, micropigmentation can be used to reconstruct the nipple area. Micropigmentation is more or less a tattooing process. The needles penetrate the skin just a few millimeters, depositing fine granules of pigment under the surface. The pigments used are made from safe … Continue reading

Tattoos for MY Girls???? If it’s Good Enough for Mama…

Sigh. This is the story of my wife’s tattoo. One that makes it a little difficult for me to lay down the law about body modifications for my girls!!! Of course, the one good thing I can point out about the small outline pattern of dolphins on the back of her neck: she got it when she was thirty. And out of her parents’ house! Once, when she was in high school, she came home with a fake ‘too on her arm. Her mother told her, “that better be a fake one, or I’m getting out the Brillo pad!” She … Continue reading
