Media Week in Review – April 7th – 12th

Welcome to our week in review for Media! We had a fun week – let’s see what we were up to. We started with a joyful children’s book, “And Here’s to You” by David Elliot. This book looks at the good in different types of animals and people, and celebrates it all. Then Lauri told us about one of her favorite television shows, “Mission Organization.” If you need ideas for how to organize, this show is the one for you. Did you know that “What Not to Wear” has a video podcast? Well, it does, and you can read all … Continue reading

Movies Week in Review – April 7th – 12th

I found some fun movies this week. Would you like to hear about them? First was the new DVD release, “Alvin and the Chipmunks.” These little guys have been around for a long time, but they’ve never had their own full-length movie before. When Alvin, Theodore, and Simon are brought from the forest in a Christmas tree, they find themselves being taken home in a food basket. Dave Seville, wannabe songwriter, is the owner of that basket and the house they proceed to trash. When he discovers they can sing, he writes a song for them which launches them all … Continue reading

The Pets Blog Week in Review for April 7-14

Guinea pigs, poop, and DIY aquarium troubleshooting were among the topics Aimee and I covered last week. In case you had to miss a day or two, here’s your handy Week in Review recap of what we wrote on: Monday, April 7 I’ve had a chance to do a lot of reflecting lately on who I am and how I got to be that way. In What if Animals Hadn’t Been Okay? I pondered what sad shape I’d be in if I had been taught differently about pets. Tuesday, April 8 In DIY Aquarium Leak Fixes, Aimee rolled up her … Continue reading

LDS Week in Review – April 7th-12th

Life just keeps getting busier! If you weren’t able to join us here throughout the week, we have a way for you to catch up. Here is the week in review. We began the week with a review of “The Crayon Messages,” a cute LDS novel about a woman who learns the true meaning of service by carrying out her visiting teaching assignment. We then continued the Scripture Study series with 1 Nephi 15:20-25. The sixth lesson in our Joseph Smith manual teaches us about “The Mission of John the Baptist,” who was sent to prepare the way of Jesus … Continue reading

The Pets Blog Week in Review for March 31 – April 6

I had to take a couple week hiatus from Week in Review duties while I tended to family affairs. However, I’m happy to be back to bring you this recap of what Aimee and I wrote about last week on: Monday, March 31 A client with awesome cats sparked Aimee musing about the awesome one in her life. (An “awesome one” being any pet that just has that everything about them. That soul connection.) Aimee discussed who the awesome one was in her life. (You have to read the blog to find out who.) Tuesday, April 1 I had made … Continue reading

The Marriage Blog Week in Review for March 31 – April 6

After abandoning poor Lyn for a couple of weeks while I dealt with family issues I’m finally ready to resume my share of Week in Review duties. Here’s a recap of what we dished about last week here in Marriage. Monday, March 31, 2008 Lyn shared some interesting thoughts on Hollywood couples and the fates of their relationships. (Or demise as is the case more commonly and which may be a better word.) Tuesday, April 1 It might have been April Fool’s Day but I was not joking when I wrote about the big changes in my little marriage. Lyn … Continue reading

Movies Week in Review – March 31st – April 5th

Looking for something fun to add to your movie wish list? Here are some suggestions for you to consider next time you’re on your way to the video store. If you’re into classic musicals, you’ll want to take a look at “Strike Up the Band.” This movie stars Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland in one of their collaborations and tells the story of two teenagers who want to raise money to go to an audition for their dance band. They put on a show to raise the cash, but it seems they’re running into a lot of opposition as they … Continue reading

LDS Week in Review – March 31st – April 5th

If you weren’t able to join us here in LDS this week, do not despair! Here’s a listing of all the blogs posted throughout the week so you can get caught up. We began our week with “Food Storage . . . in a Trailer?” Tristi looked into unusual places to store food and the ways in which we can keep this important commandment even when we’re short on space. “Choosing Not to Take Offense” reminds us that while we can’t choose the things others may say to us, we can certainly choose how we will react to them and … Continue reading

Movies Week in Review

Or should I say, “two weeks in review?” We’re combining the last two weeks into one today, and it makes a fun assortment of movies to add to your “to be watched” list. We’ll start out with “Bee Movie,” the new film just released to DVD which was written by and stars Jerry Seinfeld. I was pleasantly surprised by the fresh idea in the plot, but curious why they chose to include a little bit of swearing in a film for families. I also reviewed “Autumn in New York” for the purposes of venting my intense feelings of dislike for … Continue reading
