What Are You Doing, and Why?

I remember coming home to visit during college and spending a little time with my youngest brother. I remember he asked me a question, which I answered. Then, he asked the question every parent or older sibling knows is coming: “Why?” Since I’d been away for a while, I hadn’t been asked why like that in a few months and kind of forgot how the whole process works with little ones. I answered his question, but my answer was met with another why. I think he asked why about four times before being satisfied with what I was able to … Continue reading

Why Am I Here? – Part 3

We’ve looked at why God has put us in certain places in our lives. Another way of looking at this question is why are we here on this earth at all? Marriage News: Are Marriages Really In a Minority?

In my news hopping this morning, I came across another news byte covering an American Community Survey that revealed, for the first time in American history that married couples accounted for less than 50% of U.S. households. Why is that? I think there are three reasons for this statistic. But first let me tell you what I don’t think is causing this statistic. It’s not the rising divorce rate or the convenience of an easy divorce. The simple fact is, my generation grew up with divorce being a reasonable option. Divorce exists. We don’t see it as an easy out … Continue reading
