Top 10 Ways to Tell Your Man, “I Love You”

Last night over dinner I asked my husband to list the top ten ways a wife can show her husband that she loves him. I was blessed by a few of the answers and I saw some areas that I need to work on. I’d like to share the list with you now. 1) Make love 2) Make love 3) Make love (He wanted to say this for 4 and 5 also!) 4) Have the house straightened up when he gets home from work. He said that he didn’t care if it is messy all day long, but that he … Continue reading

Approach to Marriage

As I mentioned in my previous blog, marriage is a very serious life commitment, not only to your spouse, but also to God. However, many times the world treats marriage more like dating: something to do for a little while but when one gets bored they get out of it. Sadly this attitude is also displayed by some Christians. I want to compare what the Christian’s attitude about marriage should be to what the world’s attitude about marriage is. Duration. The Christian marriage is a new, permanent lifestyle. The worldly marriage is temporary lifestyle that can easily be changed. In … Continue reading

The Christian Marriage

Over the next few weeks I want to focus some blog articles on marriage, and more specifically the Christian marriage, which should be centered on God. The topic of marriage has been on my mind a lot lately. There have been some really good discussions in the Christian Families Forum specifically about Christianity and marriage. My husband and I have some good friends who are getting married this weekend. I also came across the following quote by Rita Rudner, a comedienne: “In Hollywood a marriage is a success if it outlasts milk.” The quote by Ms. Rudner really caught my … Continue reading

A Godly Wife

What is a godly woman? I think it’s important here to refer you back to my previous blog and to stress that there is no mold. We are all unique and different and I’m glad. Being a godly wife doesn’t mean you look like June Cleaver and it doesn’t mean you have to be perfect. You must truly believe that before you read on to what a godly wife is. Otherwise you will just be following a bunch of rules and trying to play a role. First of all, a godly woman has a relationship with God. She makes time … Continue reading

The Christian Mom

I am still young. I have not yet experienced the joy of motherhood although I have a great desire to become a mother one day. If I am blessed to become a mother I hope to be like the many good Christian mothers I have encountered, including my own mother. In honor of Mother’s Day, this blog is focused on the Christian mom. The Christian mom is strong for the Lord, strong for her husband, and strong for her children. The Christian mom’s foundation is her devotion and obedience to the Lord. Her commitment to the Lord strengthens her throughout … Continue reading

What’s Your Love Language?

The first couple of years of marriage were somewhat confusing for my husband and I. I would plan elaborate meals to show my husband that I loved him, while he would have preferred to go out and rake leaves together. Sometimes I longed for him to be more romantic. Meanwhile he was in the kitchen washing dishes, thinking of himself as the king of romance. What was our problem? The problem was that we didn’t know each other’s love language. After our first daughter was born, we took a child training class and it talked about the importance of the … Continue reading

What If My Spouse Doesn’t Find Me Attractive?

I have seen a lot of posts about this on the forums recently and I’ve wondered about this myself. After all, our personal body image affects how we perceive other people’s reactions to us. It’s harder when a husband or wife tells us flat out that we are not attractive. So my first question in this scenario is ‘why not?’ What is about them or me that they or I do not find attractive? Is it physically based? Does weight play a factor into it? Is it appearance, how they dress? Facial hair? How they style their hair? What is … Continue reading

The Marriage Guide Book – What Every Wife Needs to Know

We talked about how nice it would be to get a handbook on tips for what you need to know as a wife. As with What Every Husband Needs to Know, the following are some tips offered by wives for newly married or soon to be married women. What Every Wife Needs to Know includes: Men are protective by nature. That protective nature can sometimes seem stifling.
